Golf for Everyone. Powered by BMW India Foundation.
The BMW India Foundation has launched a nationwide initiative to make golf accessible to children from Economically Weaker Sections (EWS). This programme is designed to ensure that talented young athletes — regardless of their background or exposure — are given a fair opportunity to learn and excel in the sport. The goal is clear: to make golf more accessible, more inclusive, and truly community-driven.
To bring this mission to life, BMW India Foundation is partnering with The Golf Foundation (TGF), India’s leading non-profit in grassroots golf development. Under this initiative, we are conducting India’s Largest Annual Golf Talent Hunt 2025–26, one of the country’s most extensive grassroots golf discovery programmes. The scouting process begins with In-School Talent Identification Camps, covering government and low-income schools with portable hitting mats, nets, and putting kits. Children are evaluated through simple athletic tests — throws, sprints, jumps, and coordination drills. Shortlisted students then participate in regional On-Range Golf Camps at golf facilities across India, where they are introduced to the sport and further assessed for basic skills. Through this multi-stage process, 1,500–1,800 children across several states will be screened, culminating in a National Talent Hunt that will identify around 30 promising young golfers.
Under this support programme, these selected child golfers will be receiving regular professional coaching, equipment, tournament exposure, mentorship with focus on holistic development, and financial support for long-term progress. The BMW India Foundation believes that golf should be a sport for everyone — not just limited to privileged few. This programme aims to reach children who may have never imagined stepping onto a golf course, thereby, opening the fairway to a new generation of achievers — and unlocking possibilities for thousands of young Indians.
Women Empowerment Through Football. An Inclusion initiative by BMW India Foundation.
The BMW India Foundation, in partnership with the Khel Khel Mein (KKM) Foundation, is driving a transformative initiative that empowers girls through sport—using football as a catalyst for developing confidence, resilience and unlocking opportunities. Initiated in 2024, this programme delivered structured training, life-skills education, and holistic development for young girls from slum areas of South Delhi.
With BMW India Foundation’s support, KKM conducts football sessions, gym sessions, life-skills workshops, and physio visits throughout the year for over 20 girls, along with funding their complete nutritional, travel & transportation, and medical requirements round the year. The programme targets wider reach through in-school identification camps and ‘Mohalla’ tournaments, in under-privileged communities, engaging nearly 200 first-time players aged 6–13.
In the past, several participants of this KKM programme have advanced to elite competitive platforms. They have played in top-tier state leagues, and national championships—milestones that highlight the potential impact of this initiative.
BMW India Foundation’s commitment to gender equity and access has enabled a strong, scalable model where girls acquire skills, focused mentorship, and pathways to excel—on and off the field. This project is a clear testament to strong determination of young girls to leverage opportunities to rise, lead and inspire entire communities.
