The BMW India Foundation helps fight COVID-19.
BMW Group India has compassionately pledged a sum of ₹8 crore in the battle against the COVID-19 pandemic. It pledged to participate in the creation of isolation wards, augment critical care equipment, infrastructure & services, and provide personal protection equipment (PPE) for medical staff and frontline COVID-19 warriors in Delhi NCR and Chennai, along with provision of meals for migrant workers in despair. Realizing the pledge, BMW India Foundation has undertaken a series of benevolent initiatives aimed at addressing and resolving community-centric challenges during the pandemic, one after the other, as each wave unfolded. Employees of BMW Group India, BMW Group Plant Chennai and BMW India Financial Services have also come together and contributed voluntarily towards this noble cause.
Contribution.
PHASE-I
- Created PCR lab and Isolation Facility in Government Medical College, Chengalpattu near BMW Plant Chennai.
- Donated 10,000 PPE coverall kits to Government hospitals in Delhi-NCR and Chennai.
- Donated 25000 Rapid Antigen Test Kits and several critical medical equipment including ventilators to Gurugram Health Department.
- Initiated COVID-19 Screening & Sample Collection programme through mobile vans and booths under guidance of Gurugram Health Department- Total 77,719 samples collected in Gurgaon.
- Distributed over 100,000 meals and dry ration kits to the migrating workers in Gurugram and marginalized communities in BMW Plant Chennai vicinity (Chengalpattu).
- Created COVID-19 Isolation Facility for Gurugram Police and donated protective gears for Haryana Government’s corona warriors.
PHASE-II
- Realized government vaccination for 20,72,230 people through our Vaccine Vans organizing vaccination camps and transferring vaccines under Gurugram Health Department – contributed in making Gurugram NCR’s first 100% vaccinated district for adult population.
- Supported an Oxygen Concentrator Bank with 150 oxygen concentrators for critical care of COVID-19 patients in Delhi-NCR.
- Created 10 bedded High-end Paediatric ICU at the largest Government Hospital In Gurugram.
- Installed a PSA-Oxygen Plant (200 LPM) in a Government Community Health Center (CHC) in Faridabad.
- Trained 150 Youth as Phlebotomist in Delhi-NCR and Chennai through our skill development programme in partnership with top hospital chains in the country.
- Donated 3 High-end Ventilators with paediatric capabilities to a reputed charitable hospital in Delhi to supplement its ailing critical care infrastructure.
- Created 3 Isolation cum short stay homes for COVID-impacted children in Delhi-NCR
- Donated 25 high-end Multi-Para Monitors to SHKM Govt. Medical College & Hospital, Nalhar, located in the Aspirational District oh Nuh, in Haryana.
