The common rail injection system in
the BMW 530d.

Outstanding performance, unbeatable economy: with a turbocharger system with variable intake geometry, the engines in the BMW 530d are the first of a new generation. The common rail direct injection operates at a peak pressure of 1,800 bar while the injectors positioned in the centre of the combustion chambers guarantee a smooth and constant combustion process. In the BMW 530d the common rail direct injection combined with three litres of capacity and a turbocharging system with variable inlet geometry provide an impressive 540 Nm torque from just 1,750 rpm.
